Another
picture of my host family’s house by daylight – besides the taro, coconut,
breadfruit, and banana trees, there is also some sugarcane, the tall grass
looking like stuff on the right.
Yesterday
I walked over to my co-worker Jorg’s house (two houses down) who drove me to
work, and I took some pictures along the way.
His
“front yard” is filled with beautiful plants, and I’m sure the one with the
decorative yellow leaves is sold as a potted plant in the US/Germany.
A
papaya tree! Aparently the local species is sweeter and smaller than the
foreign species (also locally grown though), and it doesn’t have a set season.
So basically I’m dying to try Pohnpei papaya!
